01. Handling Large Dataset of Postcodes
The app needed to provide access to over 1.9 million UK postcodes along with their location data, which could lead to performance issues on mobile devices.
Implemented an optimized SQL Server backend with REST APIs to handle large datasets efficiently, enabling fast queries and data retrieval without overloading the mobile app.
02. Map Integration and Route Calculation
Integrating accurate map functionality and calculating routes between postcodes required precise geo-location services and optimized algorithms for mobile platforms.
Integrated Apple Maps and geo-location APIs in Xcode, with optimized route calculation logic and efficient map rendering techniques to provide smooth navigation experience.
03. Cross-Platform Data Consistency
Ensuring that the app behaves consistently across iOS, Android, and Windows Desktop platforms while maintaining correct postcode and map data.
Developed a robust backend with REST APIs to centralize data access and ensure uniformity across all platforms. Mobile clients consumed the APIs for real-time updates and consistent functionality.
Objective
The client came to us with the concept of developing UK Postcodes finder software that has more than 1,900,000 UK postcodes with their location data.
The idea was to provide an easier way to find postal codes from the map itself. The route between two postal codes, displaying other details about selected postal code and sharing that detail via mail was also part of the requirement.

Maps and Geo-location Integration with Xcode
PlusInfosys used its experience of using Maps and Geo locations. The client had a specific design choice, so provided the design. Plusinfosys suggested few changes in application flow, which client considered. Plusinfosys selected XCode as a development tool for optimal iOS development experience.

UK Postcode finder application was developed with all required functionality and published on App Store. The app successfully provides access to over 1.9 million UK postcodes with map integration, route calculation, and sharing features. Client received excellent response from end users.
